Ylbmig the dwarven merchant sighs as he drives his cart along the rickety rutted road to Nihem, on the western frontier of Elsania, the so-called "Dragon Empire". He was supposed to have some big shipment to deliver today, but the client had cancelled at the last minute, and now he was stuck ferrying passengers instead of merchandise. It payed, just not as well. Seated in his cart were an Ecana, an Alamir, an Elf, a Chiru, and a Draconian. A Plagueling was also there, seated in a stone hoop he had affixed to the cart's rear. It was a pain to clean, but Plagueling passengers had their advantages- they kept wild animals and lesser bandits away. Finally, Ylbmig decided that he would go insane if he had to hear just one more click from the wheels, and that even talking to these strange travelers would be preferable. "So, what brings all of you to a dirt-hole like Nihem? Are you here for that Royal Quest that's posted there I've heard about? You do sorta look like the adventuring types."

Dedrick looks to the dwarf. With a raspy voice in a thick accent, he answers, "Aye, I doth be here for travel, thought it would be good for me to see the world, but I have heard naught of this quest of which thou dost speak. Pray do tell us about it?", with a curious glow in his eyes.

"I'm just a merchant, so I don't know all that much about it, but I've heard that the Emperor has posted some really minor quest but has given a huge reward for it. For some reason, though, none have yet accepted it. Perhaps because no adventurers live near such a backwater town."

Eilen pokes out between the larger people around her. "What is this quest from the Emperor? It can't be simple if nobody will take it..."

"It's posted at the Inn, in Nihem, something to do with some wolves. Even a peasant could take those on, strange why nobody has taken it."

Birdgod was in the shape of a bird on the merchants shoulder. Only the merchant knew who he was. He looked weird because he had a sack around him. He looked around and said "tweeet tweet, I wanna cracker, tweet."

Mathias the Alamir was very old, but it was clear from his armor, his weapons, and his scars that he had seen quite a few battles in his day. He looked at the bird with his third eye, able to see through all deceptions. "I see through your ruse, bird, and I know exactly who you are. Why don't you come back here with the rest of us passengers and introduce yourself?" "But anyways, back to the Dwarf's question, I am far too old to be adventuring anymore, I'm just on my way to Nihem to meet up with a few old friends a few days from now."

"Y'know," the Dwarf chuckled, "I wasn't even expecting to have passengers today. Had a huge shipment," he pointed backwards toward a single crate, in the center of the cart, "but the client cancelled last minute, and if I don't get rid of them soon, I don't suspect my employer will like that." "Say, why don't you young'uns take it off my hand? I'm not supposed to take passengers, so I can tell my boss that the fare you already payed was payed for those goods. Go ahead, open it up, share amongst yourselves."

Eilen, with her curiosity, had been trying to peek into this crate earlier when she could sneak a look, with little success. As soon as the dwarf offered the group what the crate had to offer, she had her small hands on the lid and pulled it open just far enough for her to look inside. She hoped to find something of value to her people and end her self-imposed pilgrimage, but the contents did not quite suit her quest.

Within the crate were a few leather satchels, just enough that each passenger of the cart can have one, by some stroke of luck (or DM's laziness). Each satchel is marked on the front with a strange and intricate rune, stamped in wax, and it glimmers slightly when exposed to light. Looking at it, the Dwarf seemed shocked to see such a thing. "I've heard of those, their called adventure satchels, but I haven't seen one until now. Those things are magical, completely indestructible. Each one has 50 compartments, and each compartment can hold either one large item or 20 in quantity of the same small item. Quite a rare find indeed, and a boon to any traveler. Still, I already promised them to you all, and Ylbmig the dwarf never goes back on a deal."

Eilen lifts one from the crate, examining its every detail. "Oh, wow..." She tries it on and twists around to feel its fit. She smiles behind her mask, though nobody can really tell. "...Thank you."

"You're welcome," The dwarf responds. The cart crests another hill, and now the town is in sight, they will be there in a tempate (86.4 seconds, this world uses a metric system of time with centitempates, tempates, hectotempates, and kilotempates (days)). (If you haven't introduced your character yet, do it now or never. That means you, Ally. And Cheezy too, though I never realistically expected him to post on time anyways)

Dedrick perks, "Indestructible, ye say? It's hard to find anything plagueling-friendly, so I much appreciate the offer." He picks a bag out of the crate and puts it on. He thinks to himself that, although the bag may be indestructible, he'd have to pick items up to put them in the bag, thus destroying them. He'd figure something out. Indestructible gloves or something must exist somewhere.

Birdgod swooped down and put on a sack. Then he stood on the ground and said "tweet tweet, Polly wanna gold." He then turned into a man and said "I am birdgod. I don't talk much but I shall fight till the death." Then turned into a bird once more and got back on the shoulder he was sitting on.

Mathias takes one of the satchels, bowing deeply to the dwarf, and distributes the last two to the Elf and Draconian.
