Thiidda: Bows to the man slightly. "Thank you, sir."
Ulver: "...Well, wait, you may be interested to know that there was also a giant scorpion. I doubt it was with the skeletons though; if anything, it probably tried to attack them after we got away."

Harrima grins at this. Then, since the danger has passed, she gives Amirrah the necklace.

The man laughed a little, "The nocturnus scorpions are nothing new. They've been living here in Riverlong since long before the town was founded. They're not to be taken lightly, however. Especially not at night. They have a raging appetite and will attack anything that moves. If you led your pursuers right into it, I can't imagine there were many survivors." he gets the horse to step aside,
"Don't cause any trouble in my town."

Ulver: Bows lightly to the guard and ushers Thiidda forward. "Benny, know this town. What all does it have to offer us?"

Benny smiles and puts his hand to his chin while he remembers. "I've not been here for twenty years. You'd be surprised how much food I managed to stuff in that ol' cache. But if I remember correctly..." You see that this town rests on top of a T interesection of road, and that the party arrived through a gate on the middle road.
He points to a two relatively large buildings, and one small one directly in front of the party, "O'er there, ye got the guard commander's office(small), town hall(large) and guard housing(large). Usually the guards just sleep in their own homes, but on the off chance they have to get guards from another town, they're there."
He points then to the left, at a building slightly larger than the guard's office. "There's the Stonejaw Tavern. You need a drink, a bed, a helping hand, or just a good brawl, they have it. the prices are fair, despite being the only tavern for a couple hundred miles, because we get alot of traffic through here, or at least that's what I remember. No one stays long, though, so Riverlong hasn't grown much."
He points further left, down the street, "Down thattaway, ye got a general goods store, blacksmith, iron mine, and magic goods. Not sure if that creepy old bat running the magic store is dead yet, but she gives me the willies, and I stay away from the place. Used to be lotsa rumors surrounding the blacksmith, but none of em are true. The owner of the general goods store doesn't take kindly to haggling or thieving, and won't hesitate to kick you out the store or send goons after ya. This I know from experience."
He points down the road to the right, "Down thatta way is the jail, adventuring goods shop, grocer, clothier, and the abandoned mine and the old blacksmith's shop. The man running the adventuring goods store is just the guy running the general goods store, but far more agressive toward theives. This I also know from experience. The grocer's a squirrelly man, the clothier's quite possibly queer. The blacksmith closed the old mine and moved shop right before I fled town. There's also a building that I don't recognize." The building in question has a red banner hanging above the door, with the insignia of a sword, pointing downward.
"Rumor has it that there's a guild of padfoots in one of the closed buildings. I've sworn not to tell where it is."
He turns back to the party. "Of course, this all assumes that nothing has changed in the past twenty years, and that no one has died. Any questions?"

Multhane glances toward the magic store before addressing the others: "Shall we arrange a time and place to meet up when we have each tailored to our needs?" Amirrah shrugs: "Nothing really I need, just hoping to do what we need and then get out of here. I don't really like towns or similar establishments." Harrima stretches her arms, looking at the unknown building: "Dunno about that, building over there looks like fun." "As long as nothing like last time happens..."

[1 AM] Benny peers off at the building as well. "I doubt anything's open this late, 'cept fer the Stonejaw. Feel free ta check it out, though. Tell me what ye find."
"Any more information ye need 'fore I sit down fer some ale?"

Ulver: Looks to Benny and grins lightly. "No thanks, old man. I think I'll join you in that tavern tonight, and see what this town's got in the morning. We've had a long day."
Thiidda: Scratches her face at a thought. "...I wonder if the people inside would be willing to tip for some music at this hour." She slides her lute from its carrier, checking the strings on it.
Ulver: Turns back to the twins and Multhane. "Shall we crash the tavern altogether, or do you three have your own 'stuff' to do?"

(Shit, I forgot to add that there's a river that runs through town, on the left hand side, with a bridge crossing it. It doesn't appear to flow extremely quickly, but it is wide. It helps operate a mill, an obvious building, larger and taller than the rest, with a water wheel and two doors in the front.)

As the party nears the door, they hear the unmistakable smack of a body hitting a wooden floor. A man with a black eye and a bloodied nose quickly stumbles out of the door in quite a hurry.
Benny watches him go, "Ah, sweet memories."
He opens the door and leads the party inside. He exchanges a strange glance with a gorgeous half-elf woman, who's drinking from a wooden mug, at a corner table. She was clad in leather armor that showed some bust and midsection, and didn't appear to be older than 20. A glaive lay propped up against the wall. A sleeping drunkard is at the bar. Two beefy men in the other corner, weapons and armor on the floor beside them, are eating steak, drinking, and laughing heartily, spraying spit and food all over themselves. One of them is currently laughing so hard that he's smacking the table with his fist. The laughing subsides and they begin eating again, slightly less messily. The barmaid is an older woman, cleaning mugs with a washcloth.
(The building's main room interior is 90 feet by 20 feet. Upon entering the door, the bar is to the right. It extends down most of the left side of the room, where it's separated from the entrance to the stairs by a thin wall. A door, likely leading to the store rooms, is on the wall behind the bar on the side nearest the party. Copious wine and ale bottles line the shelves, as do plates, glassware, and ale mugs. It's lined with bar stools, only one of which is occupied by a sleeping drunk. Some space to walk to the stairway lies between The bar and the several tables, most of which are filthy. A young man with an apron on is scrubbing the unoccupied tables, albeit at a slow pace. It appears as though the busiest hours of the night are over.)
He turns to the party, "You kids'll be lucky if there's any rooms left. I'm gonna flirt with the barmaid and get some ale. Get drunk. Fight someone. Do whatever ya want, as long as it's not illegal... or somethin' that gets me kicked out for bein' associated with ye."
With that he heads over to the bar, putting a few gold coins down and chats up the barmaid.

The party is standing a little too close to the door. Someone pushes the door open, and it bumps into whoever's at the rear of the party. I assume Multhane or Amirrah.

A elf around 6 1/2 feet tall with silver hair and a slender build. He is wearing a shirt with a few belts and such around his chest holding bottles and scrolls. He has over his shirt a large over coat that goes to his knees in length and looks as if it was made for a man of a much larger stature. the left sleeve is cut off around the shoulder exposing the entire arm... the other sleeve covers the full arm and only allows for his finger tips to show. he is carrying a small bag over his shoulder that is carrying many books containing magical scripture and writings. He looks a little preoccupied "I'm sorry, I did not see you there." he pauses for a minute to look around the room before his gaze actually finds whoever he bumped into. "hey, before i take my leave, do you know of the Weasel's caches... I have been in search for them in the hopes of finding ancient knowledge over arcane scriptures... any information you have would be appreciated and vary helpful.."

The one who he had bumped into, unfortunately, was Harrima, who had stayed at the rear so she could slip away once Amirrah was well situated and stir up some trouble. "Hey, watch where you're going, you moron."
